Subject: Home Brew Sports Drink Recipe
I've tried lots of off the shelf drinks and have had varying success
with them with my favorite being Conquest. I ran MMTR 50 miler this
weekend using a custom home brew sports drink and darn it worked
well
for me. No stomach upset whatsoever, no hunger at all, nice even
energy
burn. I did not eat any solid food for the whole race. I made a
4 to 5
hour bottle and sipped from it every 15 minutes. I had one bottle
of
home brew and another with Conquest or water as needed for hydration.
I thought I send along the recipe I used as a starting point if
you'd
like to make your own. Your results will vary of course, experiment,
experiment, experiment.
