Homemade Sports Drink Recipe Peter Bakwin

I have been making sports drink for a while now. You can make your own
for a fifth to a tenth of the cost. I purchased 10 pounds of maltodextrin
from a friend who bought 50 lbs on line. I use 9 parts maltodextrin to
1 part whey protein powder (by volume), and add some electrolytes as well.
Add salt and other electrolytes to match your favorite drink. You can
also add flavoring, I use non-sweet KoolAde. My wife prefers the taste
if I add 1/2 to 1 part sugar. The great thing is you can make exactly the
flavor that you want.

I also make gels by mixing 5 parts maltodextrin with 1 part water (yes,
it really will disolve) and a tiny bit of flavor. If its real cold out
I'll make it a little less thick.
