    Testing times for ultra ace Sharon

    TEESSIDE’S top female ultra-runner Sharon Gayter has been severely tested in a gruelling start to her season.

    Sharon, from Guisborough, first travelled to Africa to take part in the Libyan Challenge. And despite foot problems, she finished the harsh 190km course in fourth place in 36hrs 10mins and broke her personal record by half an hour. (more…)

    Challenge 24h Report Torrejon (Spain) 2008

    A field of almost 70 started under extreme rainy conditions. Organised under IAU rules, major Spanish ultra club Ñ Ultrafondo set a fantastic scenario for new experiences and chances for good performances. All asphalted and mostly flat 1.000m course got soaked well before race starting time arrived.
    Though, Jose Manso (ESP) got a 216,100m PB for a local win after 8h hours on a row under the rain. (more…)

    World Harmony Run 2008

    Posting on the site has been sporadic over the last two weeks as I have been helping out with the World Harmony Run as it travels through Wales and England.
    This is the British leg of the European run which began in Rome in April and will finish in Prague in the Czech Republic in October. (more…)

    Self-Transcendence 24 Hour Basle 2008

    The results for this years Self-Transcendence 24 Hour race in Basle was won by Juns Lucas with 245 km. second place was Friedeman Hecke with 223 km and third was Jorg Desteffani with 217 km.

    In the ladies race, Muriel Thomi claimed the top spot with 181 km. In second was multiday runner cornelia Bullig and third was Silke Stutzke with 173 km.
