Results are available for the Vienna-Bratislava-Budapest Supermarathon that took place over the weekend. There are individual and team results posted. Jaroslaw Janicki won in 6:04:59 and first woman was Maria Bak in 7:08:59.

Ultrabalaton 2009

Have you ever heard about ‘Ultrabalaton’, the main ultra running event in Hungary? It’s one of the most beautiful races in Europe. The distance covers 212 km which can be done both individually or in relay.

£27.00 if one of a team of 2. £2.00 reduction if UKA affiliated.

Anton Krupicka Talks About Why He Runs

“Trail running in general-and ultra running in particular-provides an opportunity for me to tap into a seemingly more pure, stripped down, primal existence as a human being that is largely unavailable in the banality of my daily engagements as a usual member of modern society. When I am out running on the trails I am transformed from cosmopolitan city-dweller to Neolithic hunter-gatherer. This unfettered state of being seems to only truly come into existence after several hours out on the mountain trails where my being is flayed and refined to a point where nothing else remains but those elements of my constitution that are signifiers of an authentic existence.” (more…)

Garden City of Cactus (it really is– lush cactus all over)
Trail Run/ Sun. Mar. 9, 8:00 a.m. start
Vado, NM (just north of El Paso, TX)

8 Hour/ 50Km event (if interested, we will send you details on how the run works)

Runnable trails over rolling hills and through scenic canyons.

No entry fee, donations welcome, color maps and many drinks for all runners, water jugs on loops, other surprises.

Just past 4 p.m. any and all runners are invited to a late lunch with RD (his treat) at famous Mexican restaurant close to start/ finish.
